WHY IS SHE RUNNING?
Give Me Liberty
My platform stands on our founding idea of liberty:
Lower taxes and fewer regulations
Make the House of Representatives actually representative of all people
Be a servant of the people, not a career politician
LOW TAXES AND SMALL GOVERNMENT
Conservative values
When people learn I'm Republican, they sometimes respond shocked with "But you're so nice!" I think being Conservative IS the nice option. I believe in getting government out of the way to help people be at their full potential. I would aim to remove three regulations for every one I create. I believe we can maintain the supportive system for those who need it - the young, the old, the disabled - while reducing our tax burden to help the earners, too.
REPRESENTATION MATTERS
We need a first-hand voice
I'm stepping up to be real representation for so many that don't have their own voice in our current system: women, Native Americans, Veterans, single parents, millennials, and I'm just as qualified as any new candidate thanks to my political mentors and an Army-honed ability to lead with strength and learn with humility. I'm excited to listen and I'm not afraid to speak for everyone I represent.
CALL TO SERVICE AND TERM LIMITS
Serve to learn, then to teach
I've served my country in the Army Reserves, my community in volunteer jobs like - Scout leader, baseball coach, health advisory chair, PTO member, and MANY other roles. Now I want to serve my state in the House of Representatives.
Like our former Senator Paul Wellstone and a handful of politicians today, I believe term limits would create a government where we serve to contribute, to mentor, and to work efficiently. I would impose my own term limits on myself - no more than 4 terms (8 years) as Rep - and advocate for them to be enacted in the Constitution. It shouldn't be the goal of a politician to remain indefinitely, but to lead others to public service and to move on to share their gifts of service elsewhere.
